  About Jolly's Good Grub!

Mr. Jolly
He was born and raised in theEast End of London and made his living as a barrow boy at London’s Borough Market before becoming a London Bus driver.  He fled to New York after Rosie Lee (she made a great cuppa tea) broke his heart.  Rarely seen in public, Mr Jolly is known to enjoy a pork pie with a splash of HP Sauce whilst listening to the wireless.  ‘Always a Twitcher, he’s now learning to Twitter.’

Staff

Lucinda
Known as ‘Lulu’ to her friends, she’s a bit of a blousy blonde who worked hard to escape the London council estates.  She ‘pole danced’ on Wardour Street and was the cheerful barmaid at The Snug & Tickle before becoming a regular at the Wig & Gown.  She married Helen and decided life would ‘be a bit of a larf’ working for Mr Jolly.  Despite her best efforts, she can’t end a sentence without blurting out a ‘love’ or ‘sweetheart’ but she’s great with the customers and is always up for a cuppa tea and a chin wag.  As Mr Jolly says, “you can take the girl out of the East End but you can’t take the East End out of the girl”.

Timmy Tucker

Timmy is the store entertainer.  He is a Conure Parrot who spends a few hours a day in the store as he feels it is his duty to allow people to be mesmerized by his beauty, acrobatics and dancing ability.  He likes to listen to Annie Lennox and will make you a lifetime friend if you give him a sunflower seed.  He loves to say “buy it or bugger off” and sounds just like Mr Jolly when he does.

Daisy The Kat

Daisy is responsible for all and any pest control issues.  She hasn’t had to work so far but is kept on a retainer, just in case.  She sleeps most of the time but does take her responsibilities very seriously.  Timmy Tucker and Jack Rabbit are her best friends.

Helen
Can be seen as a grumpy old man or a wickedly witty hostess of indeterminate nature depending on the time of day and how much silver has crossed her palm.  An extraordinary person – by anyone’s standards – Helen is responsible for the day to day running of Mr. Jolly’s store and manages all things ‘Team Jolly’ with ease.

Max ‘Scooby’ Blaine

Max is the store Meeter & Greeter.  He loves people of all ages and sizes and is always happy to welcome a fellow canine into the store.  He is incurably good and always happy and gentle.  He is also very fond of biscuits and has trained a number of our customers to always carry a few in their pockets

Molly Malone

Molly Malone is a tough Irish gal who protects us all.  She is chief Bouncer and will only appear if and when trouble comes by.  She is thought to be Mr. Jolly’s most loyal and loving friend.  He can be heard singing “cockles and mussels, alive alive oh” (Molly Malone by The Dubliners).  Molly and Mr Jolly enjoy fishing trips.  He would like her to catch jellied eels but she usually catches clams.

Commander Jack Rabbit
Who needs a burglar alarm when you have a terrier mix like Jack (aka The Rabbit)?
He rarely makes an appearance in the store as he is usually napping during store hours.  He works the security nightshift.  Nobody gets past The Rabbit.
